One of the three Digidestined of Russia, Anna is the only child of a father who works in the Poljot Moscow watch factory and a mother who passed away when she was too young to remember well. Her step mother, who she is very close to and admires greatly, is a nurse. Anna is reasonably middle class and lives in a suburb of Moscow in a small apartment she shares with her often busy, workaholic but loving parents. They do their best to make time for her, but she often wishes that work didn't take up so much of her time.

Anna is a bit of a linguistic nut, and loves foreign languages and the words in them. She has taken classes in English since they were available, likes buying books on other languages, and dreams of becoming a translator. She also loves ice skating, although she's mediocre at it, and her busy mother will usually find time to take her out to do it at least three times a winter. Anna avidly watches the Olympics and although she's a good runner, wishes she were tougher and more athletic like her very fit step-mother. She often feels like she's not as good as she should be or could be compared to others.

Kind and warm hearted, Anna will always help someone in need, even if it's not the smart thing to do, because it's the right thing to do. She is fiercely defensive of those bullied in her school, and met most of her non-Digidestined friends through either fending off bullies or helping bullied kids afterwards. This is because Anna was bullied as a child and has never quite gotten over it. Bluntly honest when she needs to be but gently honest and optimistic most of the time, Anna endeavors to be as patient and kind as her mother, often feeling she's failed to do so. Actually, she's often aware of how she's not perfect or something special, which blinds her to any good qualities she might have.

A bit of a perfectionist, Anna takes the responsibility of being a Digidestined seriously. She treats her partner, Patamon/Unimon aka Innocenti, as she would an equal friend or even a brother. She enjoys his laid back personality but wishes he would be a bit more serious given their positions as the defenders of European Russia.
